With time, angry-young-man Virat Kohli will learn to temper himself down: Rahul Dravid

Former India batsman Rahul Dravid feels it is incorrect to compare Virat Kohli as skipper with Mahendra Singh Dhoni. While he observes that the young Delhi batsman has hardly put a wrong foot as captain, te 24-year-old Kohli will eventually be judged by his own results.

Speaking to Cricinfo, Dravid observed that Kohli has marshaled his men well in the Zimbabwe series but every team requires time to adjust to the ways of a new leader.

"I think the mistake we shouldn't make is comparing him to Dhoni. They are two very different people. In the end Kohli is going to be judged by his results. If we keep looking back and say, 'We want someone like Dhoni', I don't think we are going to get it," Dravid said, adding: "I think it'll take a little bit of adjustment from the team as well."

India have dominated Zimbabwe in the five-match ODI series and currently lead 3-0. Kohli has largely been in complete control, apart from an isolated incident when he lost his temper on being adjudged caught of what appeared like a bump catch.

Dravid though is sure that with time, Kohli will only mature and learn. "The way he reacted to the catch incident, I felt he could have reacted differently. He's always going to be different from Dhoni, more expressive, more the heart-on-the-line sort of guy, but with time, he'll grow, he'll learn, he'll know when to temper himself down."

Kohli has been leading the Indian side in Zimbabwe in the absence of Dhoni who was rested for the tour.
